Brief Note on PM-SETU Scheme
The PM-SETU (Pradhan Mantri Skilling and Employability Transformation through Upgraded ITIs) is a centrally sponsored scheme launched by the Government of India to modernize Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) and align skill development with industry requirements. It involves an investment of about ₹60,000 crore and aims to upgrade around 1,000 government ITIs across the country. Govt. Model ITI Nalagarh has been proposed as Hub ITI and Una, Rail, Ghumarwin & Patlikuhl as Spoke ITIs for the implementation of PM-SETU Scheme in the State of Himachal Pradesh.
An amount of Rs. 43.75 lakh has been sanctioned by the DGT, Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship (MSDE) to the State Directorate of Technical Education on account of Project Management Consultancy services and Rs. 30.00 lakh for Industry outreach and awareness activities aligned with the objectives of PM-SETU.
